ONE MONTH!
Our travels will take us to Dubai, UAE; Lusaka, Ndola, and Livingstone, Zambia; and Kasane, Botswana! We depart on July 16th from DFW airport and will return on August 4th.
We will be partnering with our friends at Northrise University in Ndola, Zambia to serve the community. Our students will have the opportunity to apply what they are studying at Baylor as they serve in a medical outreach. They will visit local schools for vulnerable children to conduct general screenings and health and hygiene education. Students will visit the local children’s hospital to learn more about the state of health care in the community. The team will also have the opportunity to work alongside a dental team from Texas A&M Dental School. On our way to Ndola, the team will spend two days in Lusaka touring Family Legacy (an organization that serves orphans in Zambia) and leading training for the nurses who work there.
During our time in Africa, we will travel to Livingstone, Zambia to visit Victoria Falls and to Kasane, Botswana to the Chobe National Park to experience a day of safari (on both land and water).
We welcome your prayers for us as a team and for the 18 of us individually. While we ask that those prayers primarily focus on our final logistical preparations, we also ask that you prepare us to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we seek to glorify our God in all of our efforts. We ask that you pray for our partners at Northrise University, Family Legacy, and the local schools and agencies with whom we will serve. It is our desire to serve alongside them in ways that extend their good work. We welcome your prayers for Arising Life, Mapolo, and Mackenzie schools and their students. These will be key places of ministry during our time in Lusaka.
Each week for the next month you will be introduced to all of the members of our team and hear their individual prayer requests. While we travel and minister, it is our intention to post here on the blog every other day to share our experiences.
Thank you for joining us and following along. We are grateful for your prayers and interest in our Zambia mission.
Below you will find some photos from our trip last summer that will provide you a glimpse of what is to come!
